AICD has produced a library of some 100 original documents relevant to infrastructure in Africa. Additional documents will be added as they are completed. You can search the library by sector, theme, or country using the search engine on the left hand-side of the screen.
The documents are of the following types:
Flagship Report : The flagship report presents AICD’s main findings in terms accessible to policy makers.
Sector volumes :Volumes on ICT, power, transport, and water and sanitation synthesize AICD’s technical analysis for each sector. They are aimed primarily at a technical audience.
Background papers: 17 background papers are the technical building blocks of the AICD. They give an Africa-wide picture of spending needs, sector performance, and fiscal costs for each of the sectors covered by AICD. Accompanying technical annexes provide country data tables, cross-country thematic data tables, and data collection manuals where relevant. You can download the entire package for each background paper as a single zipped file, or individual components. Some of the files are large.
Working papers: 18 working papers cover key topics in African infrastructure. Some examples are linkages between infrastructure, growth, and fiscal sustainability; welfare impacts of infrastructure reforms; and local financing for infrastructure.
Country reports: Country reports extract AICD findings pertaining to a single country, benchmarking that country’s performance against peers.
REC reports: Regional reports extract AICD findings on each of the five regional economic communities in Africa, with a particular emphasis on regional integration issues.
Media resources: Materials prepared for the media present AICD’s main messages and findings in a format suitable for journalists.
Presentations: AICD presentations present key messages and policy recommendations in PowerPoint format.
